OLA is
acknowledged as offering the premiere fine arts in the Archdiocese.
Music
At OLA, all students will
learn to play an instrument. The music program offers a variety of
musical experiences in the lower grades program, which begin the
process of reading music, understanding notes and beats, as well as
assisting in praying in Church through song. In grade 4, students learn
the recorder as an introduction to band. In 5th grade, all students
learn to play a band instrument. The school offers a beginning band,
intermediate band, jazz band and chorus.
Art
Our Art program is lead by a Masters-level instructor who emphasizes
creative self-expression utilizing a variety of materials, styles,
techniques and traditions. Through our art program, students will make
art from recycled materials, learn art history and art appreciation,
study the Masters, and create their own masterpieces in many different
media. Our goal is that students will begin a life long appreciation
for art during their stay at OLA. |
